A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Rabbi Andrew Rosenblatt has been the spiritual leader of Schara Tzedeck since 2003, where he has devoted himself with passion and creativity to his mission of making Torah resonate with the experiences of modern life. He draws strongly on his extensive academic and Torah education, as well as his legacy as the grandson of Rabbi Dr. Samuel Rosenblatt and great-grandson of renowned chazzan and composer Yossele Rosenblatt, to turn this vision into reality.
Rabbi Rosenblatt graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry and English literature, and a masters of science in bio-organic chemistry. After completing his secular studies, Rabbi Rosenblatt spent two years in Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel and subsequently received semicha from Yeshiva University in New York. Before taking the helm of Schara Tzedeck, Rabbi Rosenblatt served as the assistant rabbi at Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood, New Jersey.
Rabbi Rosenblatt is married to Dr. Cirelle Rosenblatt, a neuropsychologist, and they have five children.
Rabbi Avraham Feigelstock was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and graduated from the Rabbinical College of Canada with Smicha in Yoreh Yoreh and Yadin Yadin. He went on to study at the Central Chabad Yeshiva in New York and received his Smicha there, as well. He also received Smicha in Yoreh Yoreh and Yadin Yadin from Rabbi Piekarsky and Rabbi Hirshprung, Chief Rabbi of Montreal. Rabbi Feigelstock is a certified Shochet and mohel and an expert in the design and construction of mikvaot. He apprenticed, took shimush, at the Beis Din of Montreal under the guidance of Rabbi Hendel and Rabbi Schwei.
He moved to Vancouver in 1982 to lead a congregation. Thereafter, he established the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of British Columbia and the Beit Din, of which he is the Av Beit Din.
He also established the Kosher Check certification and the Ohel Ya’akov Community Kollel.
Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Rabbi Levi Varnai moved with his parents and siblings to Israel in 2000. Rabbi Varnai attended Yeshivot both in Israel and in New York, obtaining Smicha (Rabbinical Ordination) in 2011.
After serving as a chaplain in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), Rabbi Varnai moved back to Vancouver in 2013 where he worked for the Community Kollel as assistant Rabbi and youth director.
Since 2016, Rabbi Varnai has been the congregational Rabbi of The Bayit in Richmond. In addition to his work with The Bayit, Rabbi Varnai serves as the school Rabbi and spiritual leader at Vancouver Talmud Torah.
Born and raised in Safed, Israel, Rivky attended Beit Chana seminary, where she received her degree in ECE.
Before moving to B.C., Rivky worked with at-risk youth in various capacities. Rivky currently serves as the director of programming and communications for The Bayit.
